A Bit About Kim

While her favorite movie (Forrest Gump) may be set in the lowcountry of South Carolina, Kim has called the Upstate home for most of her life and loves it here, as reflected in her community services on the Upstate Mediation Center board of directors,  as an Anderson County Guardian ad Litem, and community zoning advocate. She completed her MSW at the University of South Carolina, and has since obtained the highest level of licensure in the state of South Carolina, which allows her to provide clinical supervision to our own budding social workers at Pendleton Place. Kim is passionate about supporting families of all kinds, and has a special interest in elevating and celebrating kinship care. As we launch our new Family Resource Center, Kim will incorporate her professional experience  a domestic violence counselor, therapist, and assessment director in psychiatric facilities. In addition to her passion for assisting families find their inherent strengths and success, Kim is also passionate about snuggling her new grandbaby - and eating tacos!
